Project Overview

For a megaproject of this scale and a considerable budget to match, the main challenge was to align all the project teams from the different stakeholders to a common goal to achieve the high-end quality intended for the project and within the time and budget constraints. This entailed managing the complete project team including the lead consultant, main contractor, subcontractors, and suppliers of client directly procured items (FF&E, OS&E and Artwork).
To achieve the quality intended while ensuring the client budget is adhered to, strict QA/QC procedures were custom-tailored to add multiple levels of checks and reviews starting with the quality of shop drawings and mock-ups to inspection of manufacturing facilities and sources of key finishes material including stone and marble, wood works and furniture; accompanying the client on multiple visits to international destinations and exhibitions for procurement of the FF&E and OS&E packages.

Completing the shop drawings’ coordination of the MEP with the civil, architectural and ID trades for a project of this scale was one of the most critical tasks and programme bottlenecks. We closely managed the workshops between the project stakeholders to conclude the engineering and coordination stage and start construction as planned leading to timely completion and successful taking-over.
